Divided they fall. Ry Russo‑Young turns the camera on her own past to examine what family means. In the late‑1970s and early‑1980s, a time when gay families were scarcely imagined, she and her sister Cade were born to two lesbian mothers via sperm donors. Their seemingly idyllic childhood is shattered by an unexpected lawsuit that ripples through their lives and still resonates today.
