Set in the nightmarish maze of occupied Paris in 1942, the story follows Robert Klein, a prosperous art dealer who profits from the suffering of those ruthlessly persecuted by the Nazis. By chance he learns of another man named Robert Klein—a Jewish individual whose existence could lead to a deadly case of mistaken identity in those harsh times.
