A concert to celebrate Bulgaria joining the EU is planned at the Embassy in London. Varadin Dimitrov, Julian Vergov, the new ambassador, is given the role of ensuring that the Queen attends, a decision pushed by Devorina Selyanska, Ernestina Chinova, the wife of the Bulgarian president who wants to throw a proper party.

Meanwhile in London, Dee Garber, the Director of the National Defense Commission, uncovers a gap in funding for the Eurofighter project. The deficit matches the money that never came from Bulgaria, and it turns out embassy staff had been spending from a duty-free slush fund for months without a boss. On his first day, Varadin closes the duty-free shop to stop the leaks and restore some control over the operation.

Katya, a cleaner at the embassy who also works nights at a club, is drawn into a strange world when Munroe, Tomas Arana, a man who claims to be a producer for a part, approaches her. After a firing from the club, Katya meets Munroe through Barry, a makeup artist who transforms Katya into a Princess Di–lookalike. Munroe operates through Famous Connections, a company that specializes in providing fake royals for private “fantasy” events, pulling Katya deeper into a simulated crown world.

At the same time, Kosta Banicharov, Lyubomir Neikov, works at the embassy’s duty-free shop and launders stolen liquor for Russian contacts who run a London restaurant. Among these figures are Chavo, Georgi Staykov, and the so‑called “Big Boss.” They want to use the embassy to stash their stolen ducks, and Kosta is tasked with killing and skinning the ducks before storing them in the embassy freezer. The ducks themselves carry locators with a five-mile range that tie back to the Queen, a detail the players barely acknowledge as their scheme unfolds.

Dee Garber grows closer to Varadin after he helps polish the Bulgarian President’s speech for the European Conference, a document that somehow ends up left in a toilet by a careless staffer. Over drinks, Dee Garber reveals that he once dined with Prince Charles through a PR agency named Famous Connections, a company that specializes in “royal” appearances. Varadin meets the owner of Famous Connections and learns that while the Queen’s attendance is coveted, this deal may require expensive, carefully staged publicity and even pricier sandwiches. The owner’s stance leaves Varadin with a choice to navigate between legitimacy and spectacle.

Detective Collway, Ralph Brown, orders a satellite search for the ducks and is stunned to see the signal emanating from the Bulgarian Embassy. Simultaneously, Racho, Malin Krastev, the embassy’s security officer, conducts a thorough sweep for spy devices and discovers signals inside the kitchen freezer where the ducks are stored. Racho and Kosta then place transmitters in bread and feed them to swans in Hyde Park. The media sensationalizes the incident, reporting that Hyde Park swans devoured fifty ducks from Richmond Park, though one transmitter-bearing duck remains hidden inside the embassy.

Famous Connections sends Munroe to meet Varadin to discuss the Queen’s role in the “Fantasy” event. But Varadin expects the real Queen, not a look‑alike, and the owner doubles down, insisting the event will be exclusive and expensive. He raises the fee and pushes Varadin toward a private, elite gathering rather than a public spectacle.

Devorina Selyanska becomes even more exhilarated at the prospect of the Queen’s acceptance. She hires a renowned presenter, Chavo, and a fire designer to elevate the party. What she doesn’t realize is that Chavo is the right-hand man of a Russian restaurateur with mafia connections, adding a dangerous layer to the preparations.

Meanwhile, the owner of Famous Connections spots Katya inside the embassy and arranges her removal. Varadin’s heart sinks when he discovers a playbook of Katya’s “fantasy” scripts tucked away in her room, a reminder of the agency’s manipulation. Katya confesses the truth to Varadin, who confronts the Famous Connections owner. The owner tries to placate him, insisting the company only provides look‑alikes, and Varadin feels cornered, with no option but to continue the contract.

As the plot thickens, the mafia guns down the “Big Boss,” and Kosta and Chavo scramble to dispose of the ducks by serving them to embassy staff. They fail to realize the mafia killed an impostor, and the real Big Boss is still alive. In a twist, Chavo even sells ducks to Jewish buyers, while Devorina arrives in Bulgaria to oversee preparations and pushes for ducks to be served at the Queen’s banquet. Kosta warns Chavo that the ducks went bad after the freezer malfunctioned.

The big day arrives, and Famous Connections mobilizes its entire staff to stage the private, aristocratic gathering inside the embassy. The chef locates the last missing duck, and it ends up on Devorina’s plate. The moment the duck is served, the chip inside triggers a satellite tracking signal that alerts Detective Collway. Chavo realizes that Kosta has lied when he sees the queen being served a duck that carries the tracking device.

Meanwhile Katya’s slipping out of the agency’s control continues, and she teams up with Desmond for a new scheme. Their first job goes awry but results in a quick theft, as Desmond slips into a room, frees Katya, and helps him raid the safe.

The at-orchestrated show spirals out of control when the fire designer’s display goes up in flames. The embassy fills with smoke and water as sprinklers activate and evacuations begin. Detective Collway leads a police unit through the chaos, and the scene reaches a tense close as he learns that Devorina Selyanska is the Bulgarian president’s wife, a detail that adds personal gravity to the unfolding events.
