Max is engaged to Jane, who dotes on her cat the way only true cat lovers can. She coos to it, lets it 'play' the piano – apparently a rendition of “Kitten on the Keys” – and Max can’t stand the feline. The short follows Max’s deadpan reactions throughout, ending with a solid gag delivering a classic punchline.
