Mars Needs Moms

Martians scan Earth's terrain and come across a poignant scene of a mother trying to guide her wayward son, Milo. Intrigued by the sight, the Supervisor devises a plan to abduct the mother to create nanny-bots for raising Martian offspring.

On Earth, Milo expresses his frustration to his mother by claiming life would be better without her. His words wound her deeply, setting the stage for a series of unfortunate events.

Later that night, Milo tries to apologize to his mother, only to find her missing. In his desperate pursuit, he unwittingly ends up in a Martian spaceship where his mother is taken away.

Milo finds himself trapped in an underground prison cell but manages to escape, avoiding the Supervisor's henchmen. An enigmatic voice guides him to leap down a chute into a bizarre underground world.

In the subterranean world, Milo meets Gribble, a human with a childlike demeanor. Gribble shares that the Martians plan to extract his mother's memories at sunrise, which would kill her.

Just when it seems all hope is lost, Ki, a kind Martian supervisor, intervenes and helps Milo. He shares stories about the human bond with mothers, a concept foreign to her.

Milo returns to Gribble's lair but finds it eerily quiet. Following the instructions of Gribble's robotic spider sidekick, Two-Cat, he heads to the Martian compound where Gribble's fate is uncertain.

As Milo is about to be captured by henchmen, Ki throws him a laser gun. This allows Milo to make a daring escape, joining Gribble as they head deeper into the perilous Martian underbelly.

In a moment of vulnerability, Gribble reveals his own sorrowful past: his mother's abduction and death caused by the Martians. This confession strengthens the bond between him and Milo.

Milo and Gribble explore Martian culture and find an ancient mural that reveals female Martian infants are raised by nanny-bots, while males are nurtured by adult males. This discovery adds depth to their understanding of the Martian society.

In a final act of bravery, Milo, Gribble, and Ki work together to rescue Milo's mother just as dawn approaches. They discover that the energy from an extraction device can disable the guards.

During the escape, Milo's mother sacrifices her life for Milo's safety by putting on his helmet. This act of maternal love shocks the Martians, demonstrating a deep connection that they do not understand.

Witnessing Milo's mother's selfless act, the henchmen revolt against the Supervisor, who insists on the superiority of machine-reared children. They choose to embrace a concept of family built on love.

With calm returning, Ki arrives with a ship for their escape. Milo, his mother, Gribble, and Ki all embark together, while Gribble decides to stay on Mars to pursue a relationship with Ki.

Milo and his mother return to Earth just in time for their father to arrive home. This bittersweet reunion marks the end of their adventure and a new beginning for their family.
