Set in 1940s Mexico City, the film follows schoolboy Carlos, who becomes infatuated with Mariana, his best friend’s mother. He admires her sophisticated, American‑styled household, which stands apart from typical Mexican families of the era. When Carlos leaves school to confess his love, his teachers catch him, sparking the drama.
