A determined young man scrapes together a series of odd jobs to earn enough money to buy a home for himself and his mother. He lands a job at a newspaper, where he becomes enchanted with the attractive society editor. Unaware that she is secretly involved with the married managing editor, she initially returns his affection to provoke jealousy, only to discover she is falling for him herself.
