A presidential candidate opposing the vice‑president flies to the Balkans to broker the release of American hostages. Before departing he receives a disk proving the vice‑president is engineering a war to boost the economy. He intends to expose the evidence, but Secret Service agents hijack his Concorde, kill the pilots, and force an Air Force officer nicknamed “Washout,” who’s never flown, to land the aircraft.
