After a career-ending injury, former prima ballerina Tereza leaves the National Theater and moves with her husband Petr and their young daughter, Maruška, to a dilapidated mill in the Broumov region. Inherited from her grandmother, the mill needs extensive renovation, and Tereza tackles the project with determination despite limited funds. To support her family, she also works as a physical education instructor at a local school, balancing her past aspirations with the challenges of a new life.
