Inspired by true events, Los Frikis portrays a group of punk rockers in 1990s Cuba who, seeking refuge, resort to injecting themselves with HIV to gain entry into government-run sanatoriums. Within these institutions, designed for isolation, they create an anarchic community—a vibrant oasis of rock and roll, joy, and independence.
