In the harsh frontier of 1869, orphaned siblings Abilene and Tod become inexplicably attracted to one another. Troubled, Tod runs to a nearby town, meets Linda—a local bar girl—and starts a sexual relationship with her. At the same time, a rough cowboy named Rawhide assaults Abilene, sparking Tod’s thirst for revenge, even as Linda remains wary yet grows increasingly compassionate toward Abilene.
