Ablaze with guns, guts and glory, Marshal Dan Mitchell, Abilene’s lawman, strives to keep peace between rival factions. For years the town has been split, cattlemen and cowboys on one side, townspeople on the other. Mitchell favors the division because it simplifies his duties, but his fragile balance soon faces trouble.
