A comedic musical adaptation of Al Capp’s Li’l Abner comic strip, set in the hillbilly town of Dogpatch, USA. When the government orders evacuation for atomic‑bomb testing, the quirky residents scramble to convince officials that their community deserves to stay. Meanwhile, lovelorn Earthquake McGoon pursues Daisy Mae, Daisy Mae fancies Li’l Abner, and Li’l Abner would rather be out fishing.
