Set in Halabja five years after the 1988 chemical attack, American‑born Kurd Diyari (Kurdo Galali) returns to build a desperately needed orphanage. As construction progresses he meets the harrowing stories of survivors, especially orphan Jiyan (Pirsheng Berzinji) and her lively cousin Sherko (Choman Hawrami). Though he fits into the impoverished town, the lingering trauma overwhelms him, and when the orphanage opens he departs, leaving Jiyan to face quiet despair.
