A faction of right‑wing police officers takes the law into their own hands, delivering vigilante justice against drug dealers and other criminals who would otherwise escape punishment. Inspector Grindel (Delon) grasps their motives but disapproves, and initially lacks the drive to stop them. His resolve hardens when the rogue unit begins targeting fellow officers for reasons that remain mysterious.
