KISS fans split into two camps. Purists idolize the original quartet—Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss—and dismiss later line‑ups, insisting only they are ‘real’ KISS. The other camp embraces the best musicians to join Paul and Gene, feeling the 1996 reunion restored a strong, vibrant line‑up after the celebrated Revenge era.
