On a death‑island of grotesque rites, three‑year‑old Ada, daughter of British Captain McPherson, is seized by the Indian Tukh sect to embody the goddess Kali. Hidden in an endless network of caverns, she oversees human sacrifices while questioning her role. Fifteen years later her father discovers her and, aided by a snake‑hunter who loves her, attempts a daring rescue.
