Nikki Moser, a carefree blond ladies' man, strikes a pact with the town burgomaster: he will finance Nikki’s purchase of a hotel on the condition that Nikki marries the mayor’s daughter, Marianne. The complication is that Marianne is of mixed race, and Nikki is adamant about staying unmarried. His friend Tony suggests securing a loan to pay the mayor and then absconding with Marianne, but obtaining the money proves far more difficult than the plan suggests.
