On Marc Aurel‑Straße in Vienna the film follows the last surviving Jewish textile merchant of the quarter, an Iranian hotel owner and the regulars of Café Salzgries. Between summer 1999 and spring 2000 director Ruth Beckermann takes short trips around her neighbourhood with a crew, capturing life and the political shift when the far‑right entered Austria’s governing coalition.
