This film weaves together three separate stories centered around exclusion, abuse, and the complexities of the male role in modern Norway. Harald, an eleven-year-old boy, struggles to find acceptance from his peers, school, and family. Emil, a thirty-year-old unemployed man, expresses his frustration and resentment towards others. Petter, a celebrated sixty-year-old screenwriter, seeks to create a film about the national hero Fridtjof Nansen. Over the course of a single day in Oslo, these three individuals each experience a profound social and emotional decline.
