Heartlands

Colin discovers Sandra's affair with Geoff and confronts her at home. The heated argument ends with Sandra leaving him, feeling torn and betrayed. The blow to his sense of security sets Colin on a mission to change his life.

The team is bound for the Regional finals in Blackpool, but Geoff drops Colin from the squad and takes Sandra with him. Colin is left shocked and humiliated, forced to reassess his future in the wake of the betrayal. This betrayal becomes the catalyst for his journey.

Motivated to prove himself and to win back his wife, Colin decides to travel to Blackpool. He entrusts his newsagent shop to his loyal customers so it won't crumble in his absence. The journey becomes a faith-driven quest rather than a simple holiday.

At a biker pub, Colin chats with landlord Ron and Mandy, and Ian challenges him to a darts match. He accompanies the group to a makeshift campsite behind the pub, where Ian persuades him to let him cut his hair. Colin entertains his new friends with darts stories and a bit of toothbrush juggling around the campfire.

The pub hosts a performance by English folk singer Kate Rusby, which adds charm to Colin's journey. The night winds down with Colin recalling his hero Eric Bristow as he remembers more stories for the group. When morning comes, the friends have gone, leaving only a photograph as a memento.

Taking a break the next day, Colin meets an eco-warrior chained to a tree and shares a cheese sandwich with him. Later he encounters a group of girl guides and spends several hours in their company. He has a heart-to-heart with the guide leader Sonja, explaining how he gave his wife everything and still felt unfulfilled.

While riding along the highway, Colin stops at a fork to check the map, and his moped is crushed under the wheels of a speeding lorry. The accident forces him to reassess his plans, but he remains determined to continue toward Blackpool. He picks himself up and rides on.

Back in Blackpool, Ron drives Mandy and her daughter to the seaside town for a weekend away. Colin later takes Mandy and her daughter out for a stroll and the trio enjoy a fun time at a fair and beachside amusements. The day marks a shift in loyalties as old ties loosen.

Colin wanders the town and spots Sandra, but he ducks away to avoid a confrontation. He spends the night on a sea-front bench, wrestling with whether to stay with his wife or continue his broader life. The next morning he heads to the darts finals with a renewed sense of purpose.

At the finals, Geoff clashes with the opposing team. Colin asks Sandra to step out for a private chat, and she tearfully confesses regret and that she no longer wants Geoff. She realizes she has been foolish and seeks forgiveness. Colin tells her that he loves her but does not want to return to his old life, offering her the newsagent.

Colin walks past a cafe and nods to his hero Eric Bristow, who nods back in acknowledgment. He then buys a new moped and gets back on the road, signaling a fresh start for his journey.

Mandy and her daughter wave at Colin from a bus as he rides away, reinforcing that everyone in the story continues on their own path. Colin remains committed to exploring the wider world, carrying the memory of Sandra but choosing to keep moving forward. The journey continues toward new horizons.
