The Yomota household—father Kinekuni (42), mother Tamiko (38), and teenage son Inumaru (17)—seems ordinary until a striking girl named Maroko Yomoto arrives, claiming to be Inumaru’s granddaughter who traveled back in time with a machine to meet her ancestors. Though Tamiko protests, Kinekuni and Inumaru welcome her, setting off events that begin to unravel the family's happy equilibrium.
