Steve Anderson emerges from prison just before Christmas Eve, excited yet apprehensive about his new life on parole. He is under strict supervision from his parole officer, Ruth, who constantly reminds him of the consequences of failing to comply with the rules.

Steve's son, Tom, makes an unbelievable discovery in their garden shed: Santa Claus. Initially skeptical and dismissing Santa as a delusional intruder, Steve decides to send him away, not realizing the chaos that will soon unfold.

In a desperate attempt to retrieve his reindeer from Battersea Dogs Home, Santa ends up getting arrested and is incarcerated in Lambeth Prison. The incident marks a turning point, setting off a series of comedic yet heartwarming events.
