Set in summer pre‑war Moscow and the nearby countryside, the story follows two contrasting sisters—Galina, a disciplined assistant professor of mathematics, and Shurochka, a carefree student. Though their personalities clash, they pursue love while juggling exams, military math lessons, mishaps, tears and moments of joy on their path to happiness.
