He develops a close friendship with Rikyu, a monk and influential figure in chanoyu, whose profound impact on the traditional tea ceremony is significant. Ultimately, Rikyu is ordered to perform hara-kiri by Toyotomi, prompting Senko to challenge the powerful leader.
