Fixed (2020) Ending Explained – Final Scene & Meaning

Bull finally understands that his family’s plan to neuter him isn’t a sign of rejection but of care. After a chaotic night of wandering the city, a missing‑dog poster appears on a neighborhood wall, announcing his disappearance and offering a reward. Seeing the poster and hearing his owners’ frantic search makes him realize how much they love him and how badly they’ve missed him.

With that new perspective, Bull returns home, where his humans greet him with relief and affection. The next morning he is taken to the vet for the neutering procedure. Despite a few uneasy dreams, the surgery passes without any real change to his daily life.

Meanwhile, the tension between Bull and the pure‑bred Afghan hound Honey comes to a head. At a dog show both Honey and her rival Sterling win their categories, prompting their owners to plan a breeding pair. Bull, fearing the loss of his chance with Honey, crashes a “pleasure house” for dogs, but Honey arrives in time, rescues him from the awkward situation, and finally confesses her own feelings. Their long‑standing friendship turns into a romantic night together, and Honey later gives birth to a litter of mixed‑breed puppies—half mutt, half Afghan hound.

The final twist lands on Sterling: after Honey’s puppies arrive, his owners deem him no longer useful for breeding and schedule his own neutering, leaving the formerly arrogant show dog to face the same fate he once mocked. The film closes with a lingering, crude joke of Honey and her friends watching a male bear perform at the dog‑pleasure venue, tossing fish and honey at him for encouragement.

Thus, the ending ties up Bull’s arc—he learns to trust his family, accepts the surgery, and gets to experience love and parenthood—while delivering a tongue‑in‑cheek final gag.
