Set against the Golden Age of Hollywood, the film follows a celebrated screenwriter and a beloved movie star whose careers appear unstoppable. When the anti‑Communist fervor of the McCarthy era engulfs Tinseltown, the writer is forced to flee the country while the star, unable to survive the accusations, takes his own life.
