Michele, Goffredo, Mirko and Vito are four former student‑movement activists from the sixties who now wander through the 1970s, unsure of how to channel their youthful idealism into work. Marginalised intellectuals, they regroup whenever they can in a shabby café, trading outlandish theories and jokes. Their routine is upended when Olga, a striking young woman, enters their lives; she becomes especially fascinated with Michele, who is equally perplexed by his sudden attraction and by what to do with her.
