After quitting his prosecutor post, Dan Adams joins an insurance firm to expose a fake‑accident racketeering gang headed by Duke Trotti. He meets skeptical employee Carol Carter, who later aids him. Dan urges his brother Eddie to leave the mob, but Eddie is killed and staged as an accident. Carol’s evidence lets Dan close in on the gang as Duke moves to silence her.
