A striking, unsettling documentary tells America’s history through the eyes of its environment. Beginning with Columbus’s arrival, it follows the untouched wilderness of the 16‑17 centuries, the agrarian 18th‑century farms, the upheaval of the Industrial Revolution, and the 20th‑century exploitation that left soils depleted, forests cleared and wildlife decimated in the pursuit of the American Dream.
