Recorded at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, the Eagles reunited for performances in April 1994, their first shows in fourteen years. The album’s title references Don Henley’s 1980 remark that they’d play together again “when Hell freezes over.” The MTV special produced eleven tracks, including an acoustic rendition of “Hotel California.”
