Ellen Hallit secretly loves her playboy boss Douglas Morrison but lacks the courage to act. Her roommate Chris steps in, trailing Morrison on a trip to Sun Valley, Idaho, and pretends to be an attentive admirer in hopes he will call Ellen. The scheme falters when bandleader Dick Layne falls for Chris, entangling the three in a romantic triangle.
