Twenty years after the Wall fell, Germany faces a crisis. In the decaying western periphery, resentment toward the former East rises as the East enjoys amenities while West archives crumble and streets fill with potholes. SPD, CDU and FDP appear powerless, while the satirical Die PARTEI, with 8,200 members, claims to be the country's last hope.
