On November 27, 2000, illusionist David Blaine performed the stunt “Frozen in Time” in Times Square. He stood lightly clothed inside a transparent block of ice, supported on an elevated platform. Tubes supplied him with air and water and removed waste. He remained encased for 63 hours, 42 minutes and 15 seconds before rescuers cut the ice away.
