Hamza, an alcoholic, subjects his wife Badru to a relentless cycle of abuse. This torment continues night after night for the first three years of their marriage, creating a toxic and painful environment for Badru.

In an attempt to help Hamza quit drinking, Badru secretly mixes anti-alcohol pills into his meals. She also provocatively suggests they start a family, hoping to manipulate him into wanting a child.

Hamza becomes embroiled in a conflict over the renovation of their Chawl. He fails to attend a crucial meeting with builders, leading Badru to step in and advocate for themselves, a decision that will have dire consequences.

When Hamza discovers that Badru attended the meeting in his absence, he retaliates with further violence. His continued refusal to negotiate with the builders threatens their housing situation.

Zulfi, who works around the Chawl, takes note of Badru's suffering and courageously files a complaint against Hamza. This leads to police intervention and Hamza's arrest under Section 498A for domestic abuse.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Shamshu reveals her own history with domestic violence, sharing the painful details of her past. This revelation helps Badru process her situation and reinforces her decision to leave Hamza behind.
