Collision Course

Oshima attempts to sell the turbo charger to the auto maker led by Derek Jarryd. The deal is brokered by the goons Scully and Kosnic. When Oshima withdraws and refuses to reveal the charger location, he is tortured and dies of a heart attack before information is disclosed.

The junkyard manager stumbles upon the plot surrounding the turbo charger. Scully terminates him with a rocket gun to remove a loose end. His death drives the investigation forward for Costas and Natsuo.

Detective Tony Costas is pulled off the case by his captain due to a personal connection with the junkyard manager. Despite orders, Costas teams up with his partner Shorty to keep digging for answers. Their determination tightens the pressure on the criminals.

Fujitsuka Natsuo arrives in the United States, assigned by Kitao to locate the turbo charger and monitor Jarryd. He carries the burden of proving his purpose to his new allies and enemies alike. The stage is set for an international pursuit.

Dingman refuses to investigate the Japanese murder, so Costas searches Oshima’s hotel room. There he finds Natsuo looking for the turbo charger, and the two decide to team up to uncover the truth. Their uneasy alliance begins in a small hotel room.

Natsuo finally admits why he is in America, and Costas and Natsuo begin a joint investigation. They plan to shadow Scully as he moves around Jarryd, joining forces to chase the charger. Trust is still fragile, but their goals align.

Posing as a reporter, Natsuo asks Jarryd about the new turbo charger. Scully is dispatched by Madras to keep Jarryd under control and away from prying eyes. The pieces of the conspiracy begin to tighten around Jarryd.

Jarryd has taken a loan from the crime boss Madras, who now uses him to secure a solid return. Scully roughs up Jarryd to maintain pressure, pushing Costas and Natsuo to tail Scully for leads. The hunt grows more dangerous with every step.

Shorty helps reveal Scully’s address, and Costas and Natsuo break into his fortified home. Scully notices the intruders and a call to Madras escalates the hit order, turning the encounter into a dangerous standoff. Gunfire erupts as they press their advance.

During the break-in, Natsuo notices a rocket launcher aimed at his own home. The duo escapes just as the house explodes, forcing them into a rapid reassessment of their next move. The threat from Madras compounds the urgency of their mission.

A tense gunfight unfolds while the pair hide in a train car. Natsuo realizes he has a grenade and passes it to Costas, who launches it out of the car. The grenade detonates, killing Scully as the train car careens toward danger.

Costas confronts Madras in anger and is suspended from the force. Natsuo is ordered to return home to Japan, yet the two outwit Inspector Dingman and continue their pursuit. The personal cost of their mission weighs heavily on both.

The investigators follow a lead to an auto shop where Oshima placed the charger in the rented car. A brief gun battle erupts with Kosnic and his goons, and Costas and Natsuo push toward the rental company to locate the vehicle. The chase moves into the city streets.

Madras and his goons pursue them through a chaotic Detroit street chase. Madras shoots Costas in a bid to seize control, while Natsuo executes a kamikaze attack by kicking through the windshield and decapitating Madras. Costas barely saves Natsuo as the car explodes behind them.

In the airport, Natsuo prepares to return to Japan with Oshima's body and no turbo charger. Costas arranges for a policewoman to deliver the missing part to him so he can help his partner save face with his boss in Japan. They share a final goodbye before parting ways.
