This energy gives the cocooned Antareans the strength they need to endure the long journey back to their planet.

A local boat captain named Jack becomes part of the plan, helping the covert rescue by piloting the vessel Manta III to retrieve the cocoons. Jack’s initial curiosity quickens into complicity after he learns the truth about the seemingly ordinary people who live next door and the extraordinary purpose behind their pool work. He discovers that one of the team members, Kitty, is not human in the ordinary sense but an Antarean who blends in by taking on a human form. This revelation launches a chain of events that splinters the usual sense of family and home, culminating in a dramatic sequence: David’s mother Susan discovers the truth about the missing residents and races to the retirement home to find many rooms now emptied of their longtime occupants.
