After King Gerlach’s death, Merlin is charged with safeguarding infant Arthur and later ensuring his ascension. Arthur seeks apprenticeship, but Merlin appoints Cynthia as his new pupil, insisting Arthur has a greater destiny. Captured by Sir Baldrick and trapped with a dragon, Arthur is freed by Cynthia’s magic, reaches Stonehenge, draws the sword before rival knights and is crowned king.
