In a present‑day rural Spanish village, strange vampire activity haunts the residents. Doctor Dora Maeterlick is summoned to a nearby castle to treat the ailing father of Baron Carl von Rysselbert, who suffers a mysterious blood disease. While assisting her, Erika falls for Carl, only to discover he is a vampire who soon claims her as his bride. Maeterlick then becomes entangled in a nightmarish spiral of dark events.
