The young girl is eager to attend school and learn to read and write, but she meets hostility or indifference at every turn. A boy who brings her to his class is expelled by the teacher because his help makes him late. On the way home, she and other girls are seized by boys pretending to be Taliban fighters, who tear her schoolbook apart and threaten to stone the female captives.
