Chi Kuan‑chun, Alexander Fu Sheng and Leung Kar‑yan portray three martial‑arts brothers who seek fellow patriots opposed to imperialist foreigners. Their quest leads them into a burgeoning Boxer sect headed by a conman. The Boxers, named for their fighting style, believe spirits protect them from foreign guns and even trick the Empress Dowager into granting a royal blessing to battle the invaders.
