To prove his innocence he dives into a corrupt underworld of drugs, prostitution and murder, aided by Maya, a gambler who knows the nightclubs. Ishii’s noir uses black‑and‑white photography, a jazzy score and a script co‑written with Ichirô Miyagawa.
