It revisits West Germany in the 1970s‑80s, a society split by the state’s confrontation with the Red Army Faction, with polarized fronts that seem irreconcilable. The narrative links the lives of Wolfgang Grams, who turns to armed struggle for moral rigor, and Alfred Herrhausen, a powerful figure whose death epitomizes the era’s turmoil.
