Set in June 1945, as World War II draws to a close, former university professor Gohar enters a brothel, meets a young prostitute and, in a sudden fit of frenzy, murders her. Detective Noureddine is assigned to the case, pursuing Gohar in hopes of securing a confession. As the investigation unfolds, both the detective and the killer confront startling revelations that force them to reassess their assumptions.
