Bressane’s first color film was shot in the 19th‑century painter Elyseu Visconti’s house, a bright laboratory of light. Forced to leave Brazil, the director left the work without full sound or final edit. It mixes horror and humor to examine insanity, portraying residents as lab mice fleeing the house to spread madness, and references Brazil’s national horror with nods to Mojica Marins and early Corman‑style English horror.
