The story exposes life’s disillusion, humor, peace, love and hate during a sweltering August weekend in 1890s North Wales. A quiet Victorian home is unsettled when an urbane London couple arrives, imposing city ideas on the rural family and igniting tension. It adapts Chekhov’s play “Uncle Vanya.”
