A sulfur miner in Kawa Ijen experiences a profound change when his wife leaves, plunging him into a time loop that reshapes his existence. His beliefs evolve from animism to Islam and capitalism, blurring the lines between ethnofiction and documentary. The film explores themes of progress and the complexities of relationships within a neocolonial setting, questioning deeply held beliefs and the perception of otherness.
