Alice, Julius and a rival compete in a zany auto‑and‑horse race. Julius’s car darts off without him, heading the wrong way and delaying his start. Alice overtakes the rival, then both switch to horses while Julius fumbles with a wind‑up wooden horse that repeatedly breaks, even losing its back legs. After a cliff climb and a stalled horse at a fence, the rival appears poised to win, but Alice makes a daring leap, topples him and clinches victory.
