The documentary examines a pivotal moment of Brazil's military regime when the Congress convened on 12 December 1968 and refused to sanction the punishment of deputy Márcio Moreira Alves, defying the government’s demand. That refusal triggered the promulgation of Institutional Act 5 (AI‑5), which suspended freedom of expression and ushered in the most repressive phase of human‑rights abuses in Brazil’s history.
