Wanting to belong can cost your life. Sammy Raes, a kind, naive law freshman from a modest background, dies during a hazing ritual called the ‘flying carpet’. The father of arrogant fraternity president Guy Bogaerts, who ordered the reckless act, uses his influence to block a homicide conviction, while the college administration seeks to avoid a press scandal.
